State Treasurer David McRae today joined the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) in condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, saying:

“The National Association of State Treasurers condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a sovereign democratic country. The Russian invasion is a threat to the people of Ukraine, to democratic freedoms, and to global and national economic stability that cannot be tolerated. To the extent that we as Treasurers are able, we are exploring the avenues we have to support the U.S. policy of economic sanctions, and encourage others to do so as well to add to the pressure being placed on the Russian government to achieve peace and stability as quickly as possible.”

McRae serves on the Executive Committee of the National Association of State Treasurers.
